My books are currently CLOSED. However, I may be able to squeeze your model in depending on the size/pattern. At this time I am unsure when I will be able to open my books again, as my full-time job greatly limits my ability to paint models.
By ordering a custom commissioned model from me, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Price quotes
The below price quotes are for the model body provided by the client only. I may have some bodies sitting around here, feel free to ask me what I have and we can go from there. Please be aware that if we use a body I have here, the price I paid for the body or its current value will be added to your price quote. These prices are quotes – they are subject to change depending on the condition of the body and/or complexity of the paintjob. This means they could go up or down!
Prepping
I prefer to prep models myself, but I will accept models that are prepped but not primed. However, there will be an additional charge for models with sup-par prepwork. The prepping price quotes listed below are for mostly clean casts – models with uneven or large seams, many pinholes, or other flaws that require a lot of time to prep will incur an additional charge.
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required upon receipt of your model (plus the cost of the body if I am supplying the body for you).
Shipping
The cost for sending the model back to you upon completion is not included in the quote. Service and method is determined by me. Faster shipping methods, such as Priority, may be available at an additional charge – please notify me before sending your final payment so I can calculate the cost. The client is responsible for all shipping costs, both sending the model to me and for receiving the model when it is complete. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
I will only ship to the preferred address on your PayPal account. Please do not pay with one address and ask me to ship to another.
I do accept international orders, but please be aware that you will be responsible for all shipping costs, and these can be expensive. All international packages will be shipped USPS First Class or Priority (depending on the weight of the box) with tracking. Client is responsible for all customs fees for bringing the model into their country. Please research the customs fees for your country as I can not do it for you. I will not mark international packages as a gift or lower than the true value.

Custom commission prices are currently under review. I just recently started accepting commissions on Traditional scale models, so I am working out how long it takes for me to complete a larger model and how much I need to purchase in materials. If you have an idea in mind please feel free to email me with your idea and I will be happy to quote a price for you!
If you are interested in a custom and would like a more exact quote, please email me at [email protected] with the following information:
· Your full name
· Email address
· Your custom idea, including model name, material, scale, color idea, reference photos
Reference photos
I will not accept a photo of another model horse, whether painted by me or another artist, as a reference photo. References must of be a real horse. The more photos the better, it gives me a more thorough idea of what you are looking for.
Trades
I typically do not accept trades but will consider trading for unpainted mini resins. Sometimes I will offer to paint a new sculpture for you in exchange for an unpainted copy of the same model, so watch my Facebook page for these opportunities!
Payment
I accept PayPal payments as “goods and services” only. Please contact me if you would like to pay by Money Order. Payment is due within 7 days of completion of your model. Time payments are available for pricier models, please email me if you are looking to do time payments. If full payment is not received within the given timeframe, you forfeit all prior payments and the model will be listed for sale immediately.
Portraits
Portrait models may vary in price depending on the complexity of the color/markings of the real horse. I will try my best to replicate the real horse but a little “wiggle room” must be given – no one is perfect!
Artist’s Choice
Do you have a model but you’re stumped on what color you want it to be? I will paint your model for you with my color choice, and charge accordingly based on the price chart above. This is a chance to get a possibly more complex pantjob at a lower cost, as the price for an artist’s choice horse will often be lower than if you order that color specifically.
Timeframes
I cannot guarantee your model will be completed within a certain timeframe, but the average model will take me 1 to 2 months to complete. Simpler paintjobs and etchies will be completed within a shorter timeframe. I will send you updated photos of your model as I work on it.
Artistic Freedom
While I understand your commission is your dream horse and you want a near replica of the horse(s) in your reference photos, a little artistic freedom, (leeway, or “wiggle room”) is required with every commission order. I paint and etch models because it is fun, and when I am not given any breathing room to expand my creativity it is no longer fun. It is almost impossible to replicate something exactly, due to lighting, different computer monitors, camera settings, et cetera. Every artist has their own style and ways of doing things, so take a look through my galleries of completed horses and make sure that I am the right artist for you. Again, I want to make sure you are pleased with your model and I don’t want anyone to be disappointed, but I will of course try my hardest. The more reference photos you can provide the better idea I have of what you are looking for. Any changes along the way, providing they are still possible to do (slight chance in the shading, addition of markings, et cetera) might incur additional charges but I am happy to work in these changes as I can.
Completion
Throughout the process, I may send you approval emails with photos of the model in its current state. Feel free to request additional photos, changes, et cetera and I will be happy to adjust providing your request is still possible. Once a step is approved, changes cannot be made without incurring additional fees. If I do not receive a response from you within 7 days from when I send the photos, you forfeit the model and all payments made prior to me sending you the photos. I reserve the right to complete the custom and list it for sale immediately. When the model is done, I will send photos from several angles of your model to you. Once I receive conformation from you that you are happy with the model, it will be carefully packed and shipped out in no longer than a week, often the next day.
Public sharing of photos
I may publicly post progress and/or completed photos of your custom order on my Facebook page, blog, and/or model horse forums. If you wish to keep your order private, such as if the model is a gift for someone, let me know before I begin working and I will refrain from posting the photos until the model is delivered to you.
“Live Show Quality” and Finishwork
All of my customs are sealed with a protective matte Dullcote to protect the finish. Be aware that etched models are not "prepped" as traditional customs are, so your custom etched model may have seams or the Breyer stamp remaining. Please note I do not claim any models to be LSQ – “Live Show Quality” as it is a very subjective term. My work has placed and NANed in the past, but no ribbons will come with your custom order. All custom ordered models are unshown unless I offer to show it for you.
If you move or change your email address, you are responsible for keeping me up-to-date with any and all changes. If I cannot reach you, your model is considered abandoned – all payments will be non-refundable and the body will not be returned to you.
Copyright
I do not give permission of any of my custom models to be altered in any way by any artist. Minor repairs by an experienced artist are permitted, though I would appreciate a quick email asking for permission and letting me know who the artist is before the repair is completed. I do not give permission for anyone to strip any of my customs and repaint – if you are looking to strip a custom of mine please email me with photos of the model in its current condition and I can give you the go-ahead.
I do not give permission for anyone to use my photos in any way, unless you specifically ask for permission to use the photo or post it elsewhere. Please ask me before using my photos for anything. If you decide to sell a custom model by me, please take your own photos for your listing and send me the link to your sale. I might post it on my Facebook page or blog to help get your more exposure! ;)
Once again, if you would like to commission me, please email me at [email protected] . Thank you!!
